Following on from the success of our 2023 Pantomime 'Dick Whittington', we're holding auditions on Monday 19th February for the principal roles of our 2024 professional production of 'Cinderella'.
You must be aged 18 or over and available to rehearse and perform during the period 28th November 2024 - 4th January 2025.
The roles we are auditioning for are as follows:
- Cinderella -Â Kind-hearted and optimistic young woman who dreams of a better life despite her current hardships. Must convey warmth and resilience.
- Buttons - Cinderella's lovable and friendly friend. Serves as the comedic heart of the story, engaging with the audience. Quick-witted with a good sense of humour to bring joy to the performance. Expressive and energetic, connecting with both children and adults. Strong improvisational skills and audience interaction are key. Comfortable with physical comedy and various slapstick elements. Solid singing and dancing abilities to enhance the overall character appeal. Plays a crucial role in creating a lively and entertaining atmosphere throughout the pantomime.
- Prince Charming - Charming and noble prince seeking true love. Requires a charismatic and regal presence on stage. Good singing and dancing skills are a plus.
- Dandini - Loyal and charismatic aide to Prince Charming. Possesses wit, charm, and a quick sense of humour. Quick changes between formal and comical scenes. Strong stage presence and excellent comedic timing are essential. Dancing and singing abilities are a plus as Dandini is an all-around performer. Adept at portraying both the serious and humorous sides of the character.
- Ugly Sisters - Our pantomime dames! Outlandish and comical characters, often clumsy. Provide comic relief through exaggerated personalities. Ability to work together for comedic timing.
- Fairy Godmother - Magical and wise character guiding Cinderella. Brings a touch of enchantment to the story. Ability to captivate the audience with charm.
Please note:Â Â All auditioning performers should prepare a short monologue showcasing their acting abilities and a song that demonstrates their vocal range.
