Healthwatch Norfolk LIVE comes to the Pavilion

Published: 19 Apr 2023 09:00

Healthwatch Norfolk, which represents the voice of patients and passes them on to NHS and care decision-makers, is holding another one of its Live events and this time it's right here at the Pavilion Theatre on Thursday 27th April.

From 11.30am, there will be presentations, guest speakers and the opportunity to ask questions. These include:

  • Healthwatch Norfolk chair Patrick Peal and chief executive Alex Stewart giving an insight into the organisation and how it can help patients
  • Some of the team from the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston talking about plans for a new hospital and its Concept Ward which is looking at ways of enhancing and adapting care in the new structure
  • Carer Support Nurse Karen Murphy talking about her role
  • Guy Peryer from the University of East Anglia giving an insight into Compassionate Communities which open up the conversation around death, dying and bereavement
  • Representatives from the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board talking about initiatives in the East of the county.

When the event finishes at around 1pm, there will also be the opportunity to network and meet representatives from a number of health and social care organisations in the area.

Judith Sharpe, deputy chief executive of Healthwatch Norfolk, said: โ€œAs part of our engagement work across the county, we wanted to arrange some of our Live events mixing talks, presentations and workshops in different communities.

โ€œThis event at Gorleston will help to showcase initiatives and projects either based in the Great Yarmouth area or of interest to people in that part of the county.

โ€œIt is also another valuable opportunity for us to meet people face-to-face, hear their experiences and share the great work that is being done in different parts of Norfolk.โ€

Doors open at 11am on Thursday 27th April and free tickets are available at bit.ly/HWNLiveInTheEast.
